Environmental, Social and Governance Performance of Chinese Multinationals: A Comparison of State- and Non-State-Owned Enterprises

چکیده
The purpose of this research is to empirically investigate the effect internationalization on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance Chinese state-owned enterprises (SOEs) non-SOEs. study employed an updated panel dataset (6238 firm-year observations) multinationals from period 2010–2019. initial findings reveal that perform better in terms environmental scores. It suggests international market forces deal with enhancing ecological problems concerns stakeholders. However, results are insignificant when social analyzed. On other hand, multinational non-SOEs outperformed their counterparts performance. paper robust regarding use proxies endogeneities.
